Seventy-five percent of the lynx's diet is made up of the snowshoe hare. He will also eat mice, grouse, squirrels and voles. The lynx does most of his hunting at dawn or dusk. He hides his leftovers for later, burying them with a light covering of snow or leaves, etc. from the ground floor of the forest.
