Santa Express Train

Every year, in November, the Ontario Northland Railway provides the Municipality with the use of the train service. They provide us with 8 coaches for the parents and children to ride the train, for a donation of a non-perishable food item. On the train ride the children sing Christmas carols and other fun songs, picking up Santa along the way. Santa boards the train and visits all the children from the area.

The Municipality and the area businesses sponsor this event.
At the end of the train ride, local volunteer fire department help give out candy bags that are made up prior to the event. The Temagami Station allows us to store the donated food in the Station until it can be brought over to local Legion for food baskets, and they also allow us to use the building to stay out of the cold.

On the train there are local Fire Department members and local Ambulance Attendants who help out each year with this event, and ride the train in case of an emergency.
